Who we are

New to Sales is a sales education brand operated by Tyler Scott. We run the website at newtosales.com and the tools hosted on it, including the Sales Resume Audit and Build My Sales Resume. If you have questions about this policy, DM us on TikTok @newtosales.

What we collect and why

We collect only what is needed to deliver the tools you use.

Contact information

When you sign up for a free resource or use one of our tools, we collect your first name and email address. We use this to send you what you asked for and, if you opted in, occasional sales career tips. We do not sell, rent, or share this information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Resume content

When you upload a resume or build one through our guided tool, the text of that resume is sent to Anthropic (the company that makes Claude, the AI we use) for analysis and generation. Anthropic processes this text to return a score and written feedback or a completed resume draft. We do not store your raw resume text on our servers after processing is complete. The generated output (your score or your finished resume) is either shown to you on the page or delivered to your email address and is then deleted from our systems.

Conversation transcripts

If you use the Build My Sales Resume tool, your answers to our guided questions are used in real time to generate your resume. Those conversation messages are not stored permanently. They exist only for the duration of your session and are discarded when your session ends.

Consent records

When you agree to these terms and our privacy policy, we store a record of that agreement: your email address, the date and time, and the version of the policy you agreed to. This is required for legal accountability and is not used for marketing.

Usage data

We may track aggregate, anonymized patterns such as which resume categories score lowest on average or where people leave the builder flow. This data is never tied to an individual person and is used only to improve the tools.

AI processing disclosure

Our resume tools are powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. When you submit a resume or use the builder, your content is processed by Anthropic’s systems. Anthropic’s privacy policy governs how they handle that data. We do not use your resume or conversation content to train or influence the AI model’s outputs for other users.

Email marketing

If you check the opt-in box when using one of our tools, we will add you to our email list and send you sales career tips and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. If you do not check that box, you will still receive the resource you requested (your resume, your score, or your download) but nothing further unless you opt in separately.

Data retention

Raw uploaded resumes and session transcripts are deleted immediately after your deliverable is generated. Consent records and aggregate analytics data are retained for as long as legally required or until you request deletion. Email subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by DMing us on TikTok @newtosales. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. We may use a session cookie to maintain state during your use of the builder tool. That cookie is deleted when you close your browser.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Attorney review notice

This policy was written to be accurate and plain-language, but it has not been reviewed by an attorney. If you are using these tools at scale or in a business context, we recommend having this reviewed by qualified legal counsel before relying on it.
